One of my big fears about becoming a parent was that I wouldn’t be able to answer questions like ‘why is the sky blue?’ but I got over that and can usually answer any questions Nash has had and if I don’t know the answer, we just look them up together on-line and both learn. But lately he’s been throwing me these curve balls out of the blue on the way home like – ‘mom, what are some words that have silent e’s?’ or ‘ what are some words that start with G but sound like J?” I can usually come up with enough answers to make him happy, but seriously, if this is what kindergarten is coming up with, I’m screwed. Oh, and he’s starting to read which is great. Really. Until he found this lunch box hat we used when he was a younger (and unable to read) to bring toys to a restaurant (because that’s the kind of parents we are) and he read it perfectly. Once again, if you need me, I’ll be in mommy jail…..
